EGS Automation releases new program of SUMO automation systems


sumoflyerEGS Automation, part of AMETEK's Advanced Motion Solutions business unit, releases a new range of the SUMO automation systems. SUMO automation systems are a well-designed, field-proven and mature product range that can be used in many applications and industrial sectors. In this context, the systems are suitable for process automation of diverse applications in the metal and plastics industries.

With the acquisition of the automation specialist EGS by Dunkermotoren, the long-standing and profound know-how in electrical drive technology can be shared within the company group. The systems are being consistently converted from pneumatic actuators to environmentally friendly and efficient electric drive technology, resulting in energy savings potential of up to 70%. In 2021, Dunkermotoren also introduced its new brand nexofox to the market. Under nexofox, Dunkermotoren will in the future offer its customers a holistic range of solutions related to the use and networking of its smart motors and the robot and automation systems of its subsidiary EGS Automation. The options for remote monitoring and predictive maintenance are particularly advantageous for the SUMO systems. Maintenance periods and times can thus be further optimized, and operating costs minimized.
