EGS Automation GmbH has completely redesigned its SUMO tray stacker portfolio and introduces the new SUMO Ecoplex2 and SUMO Ecoplex3 models – a streamlined, highly scalable platform built to handle virtually any automated tray-stacking requirement. The new structure reduces complexity, enhances flexibility, accelerates delivery times, and provides a clearer and more intuitive product offering.

By consolidating decades of automation expertise into a simplified platform, EGS delivers a portfolio that covers every major tray-handling need, from changing formats to varying stack heights and diverse robot configurations.

Lean Portfolio, Broad Application Range

The former Ecoplex2 and Megaplex solutions have evolved into a modular two-model platform: SUMO Ecoplex2 with two loading bays and SUMO Ecoplex3 with three. Both versions support EGS loading trolleys as well as customer-specific floor rollers and accommodate a wide range of tray formats, including 600×400 mm, 800×600 mm, and smaller sizes. The Ecoplex2 remains available with various infeed/outfeed conveyor configurations and with AGV stack transfer options.

Higher Efficiency, Superior Flexibility, Intuitive Operation

Standardizing the platform significantly shortens planning and integration phases, enabling rapid deployment into diverse production settings - from injection molding and CNC machining to packaging and measuring applications. Despite its compact footprint, the SUMO Ecoplex2 offers large, expandable storage capacity to ensure long autonomous run times.

A major highlight is the rollout of the EGS SmartPad across all new SUMO tray stacker models. The intuitive interface enables parameter setup, recipe management, and real-time production data visualization - without requiring any robot programming expertise.

Modular, Compatible, Energy-Efficient – Built for the Future

The redesigned SUMO systems feature a modular architecture, allowing the seamless integration of additional functions. By supporting electric rather than pneumatic axes, the systems reduce energy consumption and minimize maintenance requirements. Compatibility with existing internal logistics ensures that customer-owned trolleys and floor rollers can be reused without modification.
With the new SUMO Ecoplex2 and SUMO Ecoplex3 platform, EGS Automation sets a strong benchmark for efficient, flexible, and future-ready tray stacking automation.
