EGS Automation introduces Easyplex as the newest member of its SUMO Automation Systems

With the SUMO Automation Systems, EGS Automation, a brand of AMETEK, offers a field-tested range of standard solutions for process automation in the plastic and metal industries.

With the SUMO Easyplex including the new EGS Smart Pad, the portfolio has now been expanded to include a handling system that can be integrated into an automation process with exceptional ease and cost-efficiency, making machine loading and unloading easier than ever before. The Easyplex stocks workpieces of various sizes and geometries in standardized containers that can be customized to fit the different pieces. An industrial robot handles the parts. Due to its particularly compact and mobile design, the system has an extremely small footprint of only 1.9 m2 and allows full accessibility to the machine at any time by simply moving it. The user-friendly EGS Smart Pad panel enables intuitive system operation. No programming skills are required for setting up and operating the Easyplex. Costly and time-consuming training sessions and complex robot programming during implementation or reconfiguration are eliminated, facilitating integration with existing machines in a do-it-yourself manner and ensuring a quick return on investment.

The handling system is available in two robot sizes and with or without protective enclosures, making the Easyplex suitable for nearly all process and space requirements.
