Precise, energy-efficient and smart – Our automation solutions

Today’s rapidly changing market requirements is a never-ending source of new challenges – in particular in the metal industry.

Among these is the massive cost pressure, which is further impacted by more and more quality and safety regulations in production. Constant changes, increasingly complex products, shorter product life cycles and faster production processes are leading to a greater need for expertise and skilled labour.

Our Automation Solutions

  • Automation of Lathes
Automating your CNC lathe means your machine can be used to full capacity, thereby increasing efficiency and material throughput. We automate both new and existing machines and both single-spindle and multi-spindle lathes, as well as the removal of parts from the rod during production. We can provide you with door drives for existing machines and are able to adapt to existing electrical interfaces. We are familiar with handling chips and cooling lubricants on the parts and in the robot environment and we ensure the shortest possible loading and unloading times in order to make the best possible use of your lathe. We offer various standard as well as highly customised solutions into which additional processes in parts preparation and post-processing can also be integrated.
  • Automation of Milling Machines
We offer a wide range of standardised and individual solutions in the area of automation of CNC milling machines and machining centres that will help you utilise your machines to their full capacity. It doesn’t matter whether you need a single machine automated or several machines linked with a complex automation system. We can offer you manufacturer-independent solutions for both new and existing machines. We offer optimised workpiece storage and gripper tool solutions for every application to keep machine downtimes as short as possible during part changes, regardless of whether production takes place in one or several set-ups. Automating your milling machines can be economical even with small batch sizes. We also offer solutions that guarantee full accessibility to the machine for set-up processes and for manual loading and unloading of individual parts or very small batches.
  • Automation of Grinding Machines
We automate CNC grinding machines of various designs for internal and external grinding, cylindrical and non-circular grinding and surface grinding. The parts are either held in chucks or between centres, or grinding is centreless. We offer compact solutions for new and existing machines from a wide range of manufacturers. These ensure the necessary accessibility for set-up and small batches and are equipped with storage systems for a wide range of workpiece sizes, processing times and autonomy requirements. When automating grinding processes, it is important that the machine is accessible for set-up by the operator and that there are output options for measuring and test parts. Additional processes such as measuring, cleaning, testing or marking can be integrated into the machine and can significantly improve the economic efficiency of the system during non-productive time. Automated grinding makes it possible for machines to be better utilised and additional production shifts to be added.
  • Further areas of application
    -  Automated packaging and storage:
There are production and machining processes in metalworking that do not require automated feeding of parts or materials. This is for example the case with lathes with bar loading magazines, or very often with punching processes, or at the output of already automated or manual manufacturing or assembly processes. But the parts must still be stored for further automated processing, or automatically packaged for dispatch to the customer. We offer a wide range of solutions and logistics systems to effect this.

    - Automated marking and labelling:
We either integrate labelling – which is usually the application of a data matrix code – onto workpieces as an additional function in automation systems, or we offer an automation solution that is solely dedicated to automated labelling. We use a wide variety of labelling processes, depending on the requirements. In addition to laser marking with various marking lasers of different performance classes, we also make use of inkjet marking, as well as pad printing, needle embossing and thermal processes for plastic parts. A wide variety of markings can be applied and in the case of data matrix codes, these can also be checked, classified and stored in a traceable manner.

    - Automation of honing machines/finishing's:
We offer a wide range of solutions for automated loading and unloading of honing machines. We have already implemented a wide range of solutions for automated fine grinding for lapping, polishing and superfinishing machines with rotor discs. We implement automation solutions for a wide range of workpiece sizes and geometries and for a wide range of machine types and manufacturers, on both new and existing machines, with the necessary communication interface and integration into the existing installation space and shop floor layout.

    - Automation of broaching machines:
The automation of CNC broaching machines depends on the gripping technology of the robot. Several parts usually have to be loaded and unloaded simultaneously in the grid spacing of the broaching tools. Multiple robot tools with automatic grid adjustment are therefore usually required. You also need solutions for collecting and returning the larch amount of cooling lubricants that are used, both for the gripper tool and in the system, as well as appropriate workpiece cleaning. Appropriate accessibility is required for set-up and adjustment work on the broaching machine.
